“NRA Gun Gurus,” presented by Henry Repeating Arms, will explore the fascinating stories behind the treasures of everyday firearms enthusiasts, delivering excitement or disappointment when collectors find out what their possessions are really worth. Viewers will scramble to their safes, closets, and basements after each episode to look for the lost gems in their own collections.
The new series features two of the most renowned firearms experts in the field: National Firearms Museum Director Jim Supica and Senior Curator Phil Schreier, whose more than 50 years of combined firearms experience has been requested by The History Channel, Discovery Channel, and more. In each episode the duo encounters firearms from the odd to the ornate, revealing what makes an old gun unique and how to preserve its value.
"The history of firearms technology and their role in world history is extraordinary,” said Supica. “You never know what has been hiding in someone’s firearm collection, just waiting to be discovered.”
Jim and Phil will also examine incredible pieces on display in the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum at the Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri, in segments called Museum Minute. Additionally, viewers will get to see exceptional firearms auctioned by the esteemed Rock Island Auction Company.
“Henry doesn’t normally sponsor television programs, but we jumped on the opportunity to be a part of NRA Gun Gurus” said Anthony Imperato, President of Henry Repeating Arms. “Jim and Phil are so passionate about firearms history that their in-depth knowledge will keep you glued to your TV.”
