State Distinguished Riflemen's Badge

Smallbore State Distinguished Riflemen's Badge

In order to recognize shooters for their outstanding performance the Smallbore Director will annually award points to shooters who place within the top 10% of an OSSA approved State Championship match.  The number of points given during a single State Championship is based on the total number of shooters in the match.    Although shooters are encouraged to track how many points they have earned, the Smallbore Director is responsible for tracking and maintaining records of all points awarded from 2011 to present. No points will be awarded for placing within the top 10% prior to 2011.

Once a shooter has met the below requirements the Smallbore Director will award them their State Distinguished Riflemen Badge and certificate.

The requirements  to become a Smallbore or Air Rifle State Distinguished Riflemen are:
  1. Shooters must earn three points from an OSSA approved State Championship match by placing within the top 10% of the match.
  2. Only one point per year can be earned in Smallbore and only one point per year can be earned in Air Rifle. Points earned in Smallbore do not count towards Air Rifle and points earned for Air Rifle do not count towards Smallbore. Points earned in High Power do not count towards Smallbore or Air Rifle.
  3. Shooters must be a current member of OSSA in the year(s) in which they receive points. If they are not a member of OSSA prior to shooting the match then points will not be awarded to them for that year.
  4. The divisions for Smallbore are Iron Sights and Scope, and Precision and Sporter for Air Rifle. There must be at least two shooters within the division for points to be awarded. The total number of points given during a single State Championship is based on the total number of shooters in the match.
