The high power rifle course of fire is based on the NRA National Match Course.

Rifle types include:

Service rifle: M1, M14/M1A, and M16/AR15.

NRA Match rifle: Cal .223 to .30-06 metallic sights and a stripper clip guide to allow rapid loading of five cartridges at a time.

Any rifle any sight: Cal .223 to 300 magnum with metallic or scope sight. This is normally used in long range matches only.

Sporter rifle: A hunting type rifle weighing not more than 9.5 lbs including sight(s) but not including the weight of the sling.

Old bolt: Any as issued old military bolt action service rifle from any country. Caliber not to exceed .30-06 class.
Other Equipment:

Mat (ground cloth), shooting coat, glove, spotting scope, hearing protection, safety glasses and open bolt indicator (safety device $1.00 at the range) (Shooting coat not allowed in sporter rifle and old bolt).

Call the host range contact to verify the course of fire and the number of record and sighter rounds to be fired ( bring 10 to 20 extra ).
   

   
Course information:
National Match Course - For service rifle and NRA match rifle:
200 Yards - Ten shots loaded and fired in ten minutes from the standing position.

200 Yards - One ten shot string fired in 60 seconds from the sitting position with one reload. One magazine of 8 rounds with the service rifle. Two clips of 5 rounds for the match rifle. Start in the standing position with 2 or 5 rounds loaded. Sit and fire when targets appear.

300 Yards - One ten shot string fired in 70 seconds from the prone position with one reload. One magazine of 2 rounds and one of 8 rounds with the service rifle. Two clips of 5 rounds for the match rifle. Start in the standing position with 2 or 5 rounds loaded. Go prone and fire when the targets appear.

600 Yards - 20 shots single loaded and fired in 20 minutes from the prone position.

Long Range Course - For service rifle and any rifle with sight:

1000 Yards - 20 shots single loaded and fired in 20 minutes from the prone position. This can also be fired at any range from 300 - 1000 yards
Sporter Rifle Course - 100 or 200 yards:
8 rounds single loaded and fired in 8 minutes from the prone position.

Two 4-shot strings each fired in 30 seconds starting prone with the safety off.

Two 4-shot strings each fired in 30 seconds sitting with the safety off.

8 rounds single loaded and fired in 8 minutes from the standing position.

Old Bolt Course - 100 or 200 yards:

10 rounds single loaded and fired in 10 minutes from prone.

Two 5-shot strings each fired in 35 seconds, sitting, with the safety off.

Two 5-shot strings each fired in 35 seconds, prone, with the safety off.

10 rounds single loaded and fired in 10 minutes from standing
