Eddie Eagles was hatched by The National Rifle Association in 1988 and has taught over 10 million youngsters grades K - 6 the proper course of action if they happen upon a firearm.
The NRA has made the Oregon State Shooting Association the Official Headquarters for the Eddie Eagle program in Oregon. If you would like more background information about the Eddie Eagle program, please visit the NRA Eddie Eagle Home Site.
We are fortunate to have the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program completely funded by the Friends of NRA Banquets. FoNRA events consist of a dinner and auction put together by a local FoNRA committee. One half of the proceeds from the banquet stay in Oregon to promote firearms education and safety. The other half goes to the NRA Foundation to sponsor the same types of programs on a national level. For more information about Friends of NRA Banquets please contact our Oregon NRA Representative Mike Carey at mcarey@nrahq.org or 541-385-9404 or visit the Friends of NRA Web Site
